  Description

  :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Pipe is fully integrated with the other ShipConstructor modules allowing the pipe department to work in parallel with other departments sharing all data in real-time. Based on a logical pipe catalog with specs and connections, a 3D pipe model can be quickly generated, referencing any number of 3D structure drawings to ensure collision free routing.

Interference checking against structure and outfitting provides worry free production. 3D spool drawings are not only automatically generated, but also automatically dimensioned and annotated reducing time-to-production significantly and minimizing errors. Naturally, anytime a pipe item is created, deleted, or altered, the weight and CG of the complete product model is updated immediately without user intervention.

This is a list of features incorporated into the ShipConstructor Pipe module. This is not a comprehensive listing, if you have any inquiries regarding additional features, please contact us.

Intelligent Pipes
Pipes and fittings will only allow connections between end types that have been defined in the database so there is no possibility of accidentally connecting unrelated pipe stock. Additionally, connected pipes know they are connected and will only allow themselves to be moved in ways that can be accommodated by the connected pipes.

Interference Checking
Allows pipes to be checked against Structure, Outfits and other piping systems for any interference. These interferences are then used to automatically insert penetrations in structure according to previously defined penetration types (water tight, sleeve, etc
).

Valve Customization
Parametric valve definition allows the user to customize many different properties including type, handle type, handle position and display style.

Numerous Pipe Display Styles
Pipes can be drawn in double line, single line, mesh, and rendered modes to provide a combination of easy readability and performance.

Catalog Stock Editor
The Catalog Stock Editor provides a powerful interface for editing and organizing pipe stocks in the database while allowing the user to easily import stocks from other projects so information can be reused company wide.

Custom Object Snap Mode
ShipConstructor Pipe objects have their own Osnap points to indicate available pipes ends that have yet to be connected
.

Fully Configurable Custom Pipe Ends (Saddle Stitch, Stub-in)
Supports custom end definition for any method of attaching to pipe stocks at locations other than the stock ends
.

Numerous Pipe & Fitting Types
From regular pipe stock to reducers (concentric and eccentric), wyes, crosses, caps, plugs, olets, couplings, nipples, unions, valves, bent, flanges, elbows and tees
.

Spool Manager
This powerful dialog allows the user to view and edit all the spools for a particular system, while viewing the entire history of each spool, from creation to modification and even renaming.

Automatic Spool Naming
Fully customizable spool naming conventions allow the user to choose any combination of assembly levels, system names and drawing names
.

Customizable Spool/Arrangement BOM
The user can define multiple BOM's in the database, which can later be used during the creation of Spool and Arrangement drawings to list physical, system and assembly properties of Pipes and Outfits
.

Semi-Automated Spool Generation
Through the use of user defined templates and database settings, spool drawings can be created automatically and then modified using a number of ShipConstructor tools
.

Intelligent Annotations
Intelligent pipe annotations that automatically resize and re-adjust their orientation to match the user help keep spool and arrangement drawings labels clear and easy to position and adjust.

Find & Replace Pipe Stock
Allows for easy replacement of similar stock in case supply changes force substitution
.

Spec Driven
The interface is spec driven therefore it is impossible to use fittings or pipes that are not assigned to the current spec
.
