Barcelona, SPAIN — March 25, 2003 — McNeel announced that Penguin, non-photorealistic rendering for AutoCAD, is shipping. The suggested retail price is US$/€195. Special educational pricing is available for schools, students, and faculty.

Sketch and cartoon style
rendering
Sketch-style rendering simulates pencil, ink, chalk, pen, marker, and watercolor. There are configurable parameters for wavy or straight lines and control over line width, intensity, and color. Texture fills can simulate pencil sketches or watercolor. Users also can define their own texture fill styles.
Cartoon-style rendering has three shading levels (highlight, base, and shadow) with sharp transitions. Silhouette, border, and crease edges can also be rendered.
Users can also select a background image and control antialiasing.
