In late1999, Design Systems & Technologies began a
charity sponsorship program. The first action was to actively sponsor an eye-care center in India
(Warangal, Andra Pradesh region, 120 km east of Hyderabad), by
donating time and funds.
About one year later, we launched an initiative
to found a new association, aimed at closer control of funds and
initiatives, completely independent of the intervention and control
of established charity operators and channels.
In
talks with friends and people directly involved, the scope of
the association-to-be was soon better identified and defined,
to be focused on the serving of the needy within our (somewhat
limited geographical, financial and practical) reach, but also
on the furthering of the cause of peace and serenity in our immediate
surroundings.
When is the last time you really smiled, from your heart, at your
neighbour ?
The Warangal initiative is today our main operating theatre.
The association is called Nuova Vista (New View, or Nova Drushti
in Tulgu, the Andra Pradesh dialect, one of India's 60 or so native
languages). It is a registered,
non-profit association. To
ensure complete transparency, all operational costs are borne
by the current president.
At the end of the 2000 fiscal year, about half of DS&T's profit
was donated to the Nuova Vista Association.

action devait commanditer activement la récupération
de dons pour un centre d'ophtalmologie en Inde (région
de Warangal, Andra Pradesh à 120 kilomètres à
l'Est de Hyderabad).
Environ un an après, nous avons lancé une nouvelle
initiative visant à créer une association entièrement
indépendante, ne faisant pas partie des groupements d'associations
traditionnelles.
En parlant avec des amis et des personnes directement concernées,
les objectifs de cette future association furent précisément
identifiés, puis définis. Elle s'engagerait au service
des nécessiteux (dans le cadre de ses limites géographiques,
financières et pratiques), et se concentrerait sur la promotion
de la paix et du bien-être autour de soi.
Quand avez vous souri de bon cœur à votre voisin pour
la dernière fois?
L'initiative de Warangal est aujourd'hui notre principal théâtre
d'opération.
L'association s'appelle Nuova Vista ("nouvelle vue",
ou Nova Drushti en "Tulgu", le dialecte d'Andra Predesh,
une des soixante langues maternelles de l'Inde). C'est une association
équivalente aux associations françaises Loi 1901,
dûment enregistrée au tribunal. Pour assurer la transparence
complète, tous les frais de fonctionnement sont à
la charge du Président élu.
A la fin de l'année fiscale 2000, la moitié environ
du bénéfice de DS&T a été donnée
à l'association Nuova Vista.
